INDIA UNFOLDEDYour first guide, on us

Privacy

What we keep, and what we don’t.

Plain language, because a privacy notice should be readable. Last reviewed August 2026.

What we collect

Your email address, only if you give it to us — to send a guide, a passcode, or news you asked for. We keep it with the date and what you asked for.

Your photographs and album, only if you upload them to My India. They are yours; we store them to build your album and your book, and delete them when you ask.

Shot List feedback (Perfect / Close / Needs fixing) and any note you add, so we can improve the directions.

Pass It On: if you create an account after opening someone’s link, we record that their link brought you, the day, and whether you claimed your first edition — that is what earns them a credit. The person who passed it on sees a count, never your email. If you pass a guide on yourself, we keep the first name you choose to show and the credits you earn.

Page views, counted without cookies: the page, the referring site, a country and city from your connection, and a device class. Your IP address is hashed with a key that changes daily and is never stored. This tells us which pages are read; it cannot identify you.

Cookies

One cookie, set only when you sign in: it keeps you signed in to My India. If you arrive through a traveler’s or partner’s Pass It On link, a second cookie remembers whose link it was for thirty days, so that the person who passed the guide on can be thanked if you create an account; it records the link code and the day, nothing about you. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.

Who else sees it

The services that run the site: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and storage, Singapore region), Resend (email delivery), and, when paid checkout opens, Stripe (payments — we never see your card). Each handles data under its own terms. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and no guide or ranking on this site is sponsored.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you — including your album and photographs — write to hello@india-unfolded.com and we will do it within seven days.

Children

The site is for adults planning travel. We don’t knowingly collect details from anyone under 16; if that has happened, tell us and we will delete them.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and we say what changed.
