The book begins before the trip does

Before you go

The City Editions land in your inbox — the story in acts, the timeline, the itineraries, Look Closer and the Shot List. Thirty minutes of reading and you will understand what you are about to walk into.

While you are there

Look Closer for the things most visitors walk straight past. The Shot List telling you where to stand, when the light is right, and what to say to the people you are photographing. The companion app, with the audio guides, comes next.

When you are home

Your photographs drop into the story you have been travelling through. You choose a cover, we print and bind it, and it arrives at your door.

Worth knowing

The parts we would rather you heard from us

The book is a credit, not a parcel

We cannot print your book until you are home and your photographs are in it, and we do not ask for your address before we need it. So the Journey carries a Memory Book credit, good for twelve months. You redeem it when the album is ready.

You do not need all twelve photographs

The Shot List is twelve frames per city. Weather, closing times and one bad morning mean almost nobody comes home with every one, and the book is designed for that. Missing frames are never printed as gaps.

You choose your cities afterwards

On the one- and two-city Journeys you are not asked to decide at checkout. The credits sit in your account until your route is settled.

Hire a photographer if you would rather

Every Journey includes a brief you can hand to a local photographer, written for them and in their language. They shoot the frames at the fort, you take the rest. The book does not care who held the camera.
